Our 2025 Barbara Lee Lecture Series continues with Anna Tsouhlarakis. Anna discuss her art practice, which explores moments where humor, traditions, found objects, and Indigenous knowledge find common ground. Since the beginning of her career, she has challenged the aesthetic and conceptual expectations associated with Native American art. About the artist:
Anna Tsouhlarakis is Greek, Creek, and an enrolled citizen of the Navajo Nation. She is an Assistant Professor at the University of Colorado Boulder. Tsouhlarakis’s work has been part of national and international exhibitions at venues such as NEON Foundation in Athens, Greece; White Frame in Basel, Switzerland; Rush Arts in New York; the Art Gallery of Ontario in Toronto; the Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University; Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art; the Museum of Contemporary Native Arts; the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art; the National Museum of the American Indian; the National Portrait Gallery; MCA Denver.

The Barbara Lee Lecture Series is an annual series that features faculty artists during our summer program. During this series, we open our campus to the public, welcoming our friends and neighbors into the conversations that take place at the School. After the summer program, the lectures become part of the Lecture Archive, a growing collection of recordings that can be accessed online or on request.
