Skowhegan Council

Council members provide direct support to the artists at Skowhegan. Curious about process, practice, and ideas, members meet in New York throughout the year for visits to studios, private collections, and exhibitions, and receive passes to art fairs worldwide. Drawing on the School’s deep history and artist network, the Council is an opportunity to learn and exchange ideas, encountering exceptional artists at various moments in their lives and practice.

The Skowhegan Council is co-chaired by Derrick Adams, Caroline Hoffman Malkin, and Amitha Raman. For more information, please contact Cerrie Bamford, Deputy Director, at: cbamford@skowheganart.org

Special Events

Skowhegan Awards Dinner

In 1971, Skowhegan hosted the first event of its kind in New York City: an awards dinner to honor artists, philanthropists, and arts advocates, whose commitment and vision transformed the arts. This model, broadly adopted in our field, remains an annual opportunity for our community to gather in shared celebration and support. Funds raised at the Awards Dinner sustain our School, including our need-blind admissions policy, and fuel our intergenerational artist community.

Store

Since 1970, artists have partnered with Skowhegan to produce limited-edition prints and donate unique works to support the School. Your purchase directly benefits the artists in our program, and allows us to offer this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for emerging artists.
