Bernarda Shahn, Visiting Artist Lecture 1995

Bernarda Shahn gives a lecture at Skowhegan talking about her long standing relationship to Skowhegan. Bernarda Shahn talks about her relationship with her partner Ben Shahn and the many summers they spent painting in Maine. Shahn also talks about her painting practice showing a series of slides. Working as a commercial artist and illustrator is another aspect that Shahn talks about, saying that illustration taught her how to create visual stories for herself. Shahn ends the lecture by telling participants about the importance of knowing how valuable they are and to always cherish their talents.
