Yvonne Rainer, Resident Artist Lecture 1991

Interdisciplinary artist Yvonne Rainer talks about her experiences as a choreographer, film-maker and dancer, implementing these modes of working to navigate her identity through the lens of race, gender, class and sexuality. Rainer also has an open discussion with the participants where the conversations range from politics, feminism, visual art, and pop culture. Rainer tells the participants about the shift she made in her practice to expand from dance into experimental film, specifically being inspired by Laura Mulvey and Merce Cunningham.
