Yvonne Jacquette, Resident Artist Lecture 1994

Painter Yvonne Jacquette addresses a variety of subjects (Maine, Alzheimer’s disease, Japan, Buddhism, the hazards of nuclear power) and the effects of these topics on her painting in the early 1970’s. Jacquette also talks about the different brushwork techniques she employs and her ongoing and evolving interest in aerial views of landscapes and cityscapes, and her more recent efforts at collage and modifying what is actually seen to create something other than an artist’s documentary. The lecture ends with a collaborative film between Jacquette and her husband, Rudy Burckhardt.
