Torkwase Dyson, Resident Artist Lecture 2017
Abstract
Interdisciplinary artist Torkwase Dyson gives a lecture thinking about ideas around infrastructure, architecture, nomadic practices, political abstraction, the body, and the more specific connections these have with black history and spatial politics. Showing a series of sculptures, drawings, paintings, installations, and video work, Dyson continues to reflect on the body as being a placeholder to understand the complexities of slavery, and as a site for geography.
