Terry Schoonhoven, Resident Artist Lecture 1986

Terry Schoonhoven talks about his collaborative practice in Los Angeles: The Fine Arts Squad and how it was a group of artists making work together. Schoonhoven also talks about his painting, sculpture, photography, and drawing practice. Schoonhoven states how he draws from California’s political and cultural history. He negotiates with time limits and site specificity to work out his projects, and this has also led him to make the shift moving away from canvas to Mural. Muralist art has allowed Schnoonhoven to create time limitations and engage with audiences and performers where he can create specific beginnings and endings.
