Rudy Burckhardt, Resident Artist Lecture 1988

Artist Rudy Burckhardt shows slides of and talks about his work in photography (commenting that he was focusing on  visual interest at a time when the medium was considered more appropriate for social commentary), painting (to which he turned in an effort to move away from the instant composition character of photography, although he was frustrated that he was never able to move beyond a primitive style), paintings on fungus, and collage, punctuating his comments on the work with anecdotes about his life and observations about other artists. This is followed by some observations on his work in film and the showing of two of his films, one a collaboration with Joseph Cornell. The lecture appears to be incomplete.
