Ronald Bladen, Visiting Artist Lecture 1968

Sculptor Ronald Bladen reads a brief personal statement, and goes on to describe his sculptural approach as including large often precarious works, which make use of geometric (non-organic) shapes and have no color other than black and white. Questions lead to a variety of topics including choice of materials and working methods, and eventually a lengthy discussion of public sculpture and the speaker’s unfavorable view of a recent show of public sculpture in New York City.
