Roger Majorowicz, Resident Artist Lecture 1970

Roger Majorwicz gives a lecture at Skowhegan talking about his artistic practice. Majorwicz also talks about his experience being a participant at Skowhegan in 1957 and how his time as a student inspired him to embrace sculpture in his work. Majorwicz shows a series of slides of his work from 1957-1967. Majorowicz talks about the influence that Henry Varnum Poor had on him as an artist, and how he influenced Majorowicz to push himself into new mediums. Majorowicz’s time at Skowhegan helped him expand his practice into sculpture, wood carving, bronze, and terracotta alongside his paintings and drawings.
