Robert White, Resident Artist Lecture 1973

Robert White gives a lecture at Skowhegan where he shows a series of slides depicting his artistic practice that includes work ranging from sculpture, plaster, fibre, drawing, terracotta and wood working. White specifically talks about the medium of terracotta and how it allows him to make many series of works that give him the chance to expand on his model making, which is constantly changing. This allows White the chance to consistently evolve in his practice. White also engages with questions from the participants, and tells them his many ways of working has allowed him to become deeply invested in ideas of movement, putting together disparate methods, and taking them apart to explore configuration when creating his work.
