R. Buckminster Fuller, Visiting Artist Lecture 1968

Renowned architect, inventor, theorist, writer and designer Buckminster Fuller gives a lecture at Skowhegan. Fuller explores the wide ranging forms of thinking that has informed his interdisciplinary practice ranging from the relationship between the metaphysical and the physical, the history of slavery and colonialism, and the teachings of theory found in physics, economics, and chemistry to name a few. Fuller urges the students to use their minds to explore the metaphysical and physical, and to think in innovative ways on how to regenerate the life around them. Fuller ends his lecture telling the participants that there is no better way for the concept of design revolution–which he is invested in– to be better understood than by artists.
