Polly Apfelbaum, Resident Artist Lecture 1999

Referring to herself as a “hybrid artist” whose work lends itself to inclusion in a variety of exhibition venues, installation artist Polly Apfelbaum traces her evolution from earlier, more sculptural, narrative work which used found objects and fabrication, to a more painterly abstract form of installation, using dyed fabric in which the artist’s hand and the process of making becomes visible.
