Paul Frazier, Resident Artist Lecture 1961

Paul Frazier begins his lecture at Skowhegan by showing a series of slides of his work rooted in painting and drawing, utilizing a wide variety of materials for his mark making ranging from pen, brush, gouache, and pencil. Frazier tells the participants how it’s important for them as artists to draw inspiration from books, history, nature, and other artists’ points of view that inspire and challenge them. He urges artists to follow their stimulation when finding an individual point of view as artists as this will help them break through their limitations.
