Lois Dodd, Resident Artist Lecture 1979

Abstract

Painter Lois Dodd shows slides of her landscapes, figures, interiors, and still lifes, reflecting on her entering the art world through the back door of textile design. She discusses compositional, design, practical and other challenges she experienced over the course of her career. Her commentary includes how her evolving working method (whether from photographs or drawings or directly from the subject) affected her compositions and the evolution of her subject matter. Paintings are not identified by name.
