John Moore, Resident Artist Lecture 1974

John Moore gives an intimate lecture talking about his painting practice which ranges from still life, landscape and portraiture. In his work, Moore explores ideas of line, geometry and triangulation, drawing from observational photography. More also explores the relationship of foreground, middle ground and background in his work when thinking about picture construction. For Moore, being invested in contour and drawing from colour is really important. Scale is also important too, with Moore’s paintings ranging from larger format canvases to smaller works.
