Jeanine Oleson, Resident Artist Lecture 2018

Abstract

Throughout Jeanine Oleson’s lecture, she reflects on her interdisciplinary practice and the important ways in which this practice has been shaped through collaboration. Olson reflects on thinking about the audiences and their role as witnesses, and using performance as a way to connect to each other through language and place. Oleson also speaks about the importance the movement of information has through material, resisting singular forms of making connected to documentary form, and recent participatory projects where she interviews ordinary people’s preparedness for catastrophe.
