Jake Berthot, Resident Artist Lecture 1982

Painter Jake Berthot shows slides of eight paintings which were part of an unidentified show hung the January prior to the lecture. After showing and commenting on the slides, audience questions lead him to talk about many topics including: his interest in art which started in childhood, his continuing interest and involvement in the arts, aspects of painting including his movement from oils to acrylics and back again to oils, his admiration for certain other artists, notably, Paul Cézanne and Constantin Brâncuși, and his conscious choice to separate his drawing style from his painting style.
