Herb Aach, Visiting Artist Lecture 1970

Painter, philosopher, and writer Herb Aach gives a lecture at Skowhegan. Aach explains to the participants his interest in visual perception and how it informs touch and perception, as well as his interest in the history of the colour wheel. Aach explains to the participants that there are receptors of the eyes that make up everything else ranging from primary colours and its relationship to the three receptors of the eyes. Aach also talks about the history of colourfield painting and draws from the philosophies of Richard Gregory as well to further explore how one can look and see more deeply.
