George Rickey, Visiting Artist Lecture 1974

Painter turned sculptor George Rickey presents a brief overview of the possibilities that can be explored in kinetic sculpture (and how it defines a space through motion). He shows slides of his work, describing the principles of balance, structure and geometry that characterized them, interrupting frequently to illustrate the principles by drawing diagrams for his audience. Questions are directed toward his artistic decisions, problems encountered, citing preferences and working methods. Works are generally not identified by title.
