George Herms, Resident Artist Lecture 2006

Beat Generation artist and founding member of the California Assemblage Movement, George Herms, shares slides of his work along with stories behind the art and memorable experiences with people, places, and institutions that played a part in his long life as a “junk sculptor.” Herms also fields questions about his current opera project, Joseph Cornell, and the relationship of his work to time and ephemerality.
