Eric Fischl, Visiting Artist Lecture 1985

Painter Eric Fischl presents a chronological sampling of his work, showing his progression from early crisis period with abstraction, to eventually making large paintings which deal with psychologically and sexually charged subjects, and detailing his working method, which often consists of starting with a simple still life, and then developing a fictitious narrative and adding and subtracting characters and objects until he is satisfied with the story or feeling he is trying to express.
