Daniel Bozhkov, Resident Artist Lecture 2011
Abstract
Artist Daniel Bozhkov speaks to an audience at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture about a selection of his conceptual pieces with particular emphasis on recent work, describing the nature of the projects and the peripheral directions that many of them have taken. In response to questions he explains how he came to choose the works he included in the current lecture, the nature of his role as an outsider when working with people with authority in the various fields of interest that he explores, his interest in the duality of material and immaterial things, autonomy, and the function of tangible artifacts such as paintings or other objects as documentation or active players in the projects.
