Daniel Bozhkov, Fresco Lecture 2006

In this lecture accompanied by slides and video clips, conceptual artist and Skowhegan fresco instructor, Daniel Bozhkov, shares an overview of fresco painting from Pompeii to the present day, including information about the process and sources of traditional fresco materials. The role of fresco in the religious and secular visual culture of Europe is illustrated by slides taken in Greece and Eastern Europe. The end of the lecture covers the opportunities for learning about fresco and exploring the medium that are offered at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture.
