Chitra Ganesh, Visiting Artist Lecture 2013

Addressing an audience at Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, artist Chitra Ganesh delivers a two-part lecture, the first part devoted to autobiographical information and iconic and everyday images from her childhood which influenced her interest in myth and history as it emerged in her art, as well as sharing work she made as a participant at the school in 2001 and after. The second part is devoted to a more current collaborative body of work, with installations in many varied sites as well as a large web-based project around the issues of missing persons and those detained, deported, disappeared, tortured, and killed in the aftermath of September 11, 2001.
