Charles Atlas, Visiting Artist Lecture 2013

Speaking to an audience at the Skowhegan School of Painting & Sculpture video artist and film director Charles Atlas shares numerous clips from recent videos and installations, and talks about his collaborations with artists and choreographers including Merce Cunningham, John Cage, and Yvonne Rainer during the early days of his career. Questions from the audience address issues ranging from the very specific (his association with the color orange, his use of appropriated video in one of his more recent projects) to the more general (his collaborations with various gay artists, what advice he might have to offer young artists just starting out).
