Catherine Opie, Visiting Artist Lecture 2010

Photographer Catherine Opie, focuses on the diverse themes and common threads represented in the bodies of her work which were exhibited at the Guggenheim retrospective of her photographs, An American Photographer. Communities, queerness, autobiographical data, a lifelong love affair with the medium, and specificity of identity in landscape and portraiture are motifs which run throughout the talk.
