Anicka Yi, Visiting Artist Lecture 2018

Anicka Yi uses a scholarly approach and an open ended discussion to give a lecture that creates a thinking process of her ideas in an intimate manner. Yi structures her talk around the evolution and changing conception of the human species, also dwelling on what the function and value of the human species lie in the current present and going forward into the future. Yi reflects on how these conceptions of the human species have changed through many ways, including but not limited to the digitization of human life, biocolonialism, and the growth of genetic fetishization.
