Amina Ross is featured in the Studio Museum of Harlem’s upcoming exhibition, “Fade,” the sixth installment of the Museum’s “F” show series of exhibitions of emerging artists. Seventeen artists embrace feeling, spirituality, and non linear conceptions of time through sculptural and visual interventions. Ross’ newly developed installation of the 2021 video “Man’s Country” reimagines the work within a site-specific context. Drawing on the spatial and social dynamics of a gay bathhouse dance floor, Ross explores the breakdown of fixed structures and the fluid boundaries of identity. Other Skowhegan alums featured, include: Harlan Bozeman A23, Utē Petit A23, Chiffon Thomas A18.
