Josephine Halvorson, Resident Artist Lecture 2018
Abstract
Josephine Halvorson talks about the importance of observational painting and how it has become a record for her to create experiences in real time. Throughout the lecture, Halvorson uses personal anecdotes that have shaped her painting practice, whether it is through her travels, her days as a student, or her continued engagement with art history. Halvorson also reflects on the sense of duty that she embodies with having a pedagogical practice, especially with the importance to preserve and transmit knowledge.
