Piero Golia, Resident Artist Lecture 2016

Abstract

Interdisciplinary artist Piero Golia talks about his practice rooted in collaboration and participatory art. Golia talks about his experiences navigating being an artist in LA, and focuses particularly on his individual practice as well as his collaborative practice, specifically the Bar Mountain School. The project Bar Mountain School, started in LA at the back of a bar with Eric Wesley, was a way for Golia and Wesley to invite fifteen students who invite artists to create an easy platform of access for everyone. This project has also allowed Golia to think about making work without too many didactic choices.
