Tommy Lanigan-Schmidt, Visiting Artist Lecture 1992

Abstract

Artist and activist Tommy Lanigan-Schmidt gives a lecture talking about his interdisciplinary practice which ranges from sculpture, drawing, and installation. Lanigan-Schmidt has many sources of influence that inspire his work, including catholicism, his sexuality and his memories of being an activist in the Stonewall riots, and finally visiting libraries. For Lanigan-Schmidt, his source for making art has and continues to be looking at the periphery.
