Brice Marden, Visiting Artist Lecture 1976

Painter Brice Marden gives a slide presentation of selected artwork which he admires, roughly divided by category: animals, landscapes, men and women, women and children, still lifes. Comments on the individual works are minimal and not all the paintings are identified. About halfway through the lecture he shows slides of his own work, also with minimal narrative, although in response to a question he does talk briefly about his painting technique. During the Q&A section he talks about influences on and the evolution of his style.
