Pat Passlof, Visiting Artist Lecture 1981

Abstract

Pat Passlof gives a lecture at Skowhegan by talking about her experiences at Black Mountain College and delving into abstract expressionism as a painter. Passlof is interested in getting rid of the space of perspective in her paintings. For Passlof, the picture plane is something one has to build and accomplish, not keep and the picture plane is something that is meant for the picture to close up. Passlof ends her lecture by talking about her teaching practice and how important it is to always give young artists freedom and choices
