CONTACT & INFORMATION
Skowhegan operates from two locations: a 350-acre campus in Maine where Skowhegan’s nine-week summer program takes place; and in New York City, an office space open year-round with a flexible program space and publicly accessible archives.
Neither a school in the traditional sense nor a retreat, Skowhegan's nine-week summer program provides 65 emerging artists and 11 faculty artists with a collaborative and rigorous environment that is shaped by risk-taking, mentorship, and peer-to-peer exchange. Skowhegan does not consider financial ability or circumstances in its admissions process and, instead, focuses on an individual’s commitment to artmaking and inquiry.

Board of Trustees & Governors, Skowhegan Alliance
Skowhegan’s governance structure is a fundamental aspect of the organization. The Board of Trustees have a fiduciary responsibility for Skowhegan, and the Board of Governors is a group of artists of high professional standing who oversee the program. The Boards work together to ensure that Skowhegan fulfills its mission and remains a powerful voice in the emerging and contemporary art community.
